Getting ready to mingle

How do I start using Ziinkle?

You can download the Ziinkle app for iOS or Andriod from your app store.

Ziinkle currently supports iOS 14 and up and Android SDK 21 – 31 and up.

Ziinkle requires that all users verify their accounts with a mobile phone number. We have this requirement in place to ensure the safety and security of your account.

To create an account:

1. Download the Ziinkle app for iOS or Android.

2. Tap Register

3. Fill out your profile info.

4. Allow Ziinkle access to all required permissions.

5. Start mingling.

Is Ziinkle free to use?

Yes, there is a free version of Ziinkle available, so you can download Ziinkle for iOS or Android and start using it straight away.
If you’d like to access advanced features, such as Venue Search, you can subscribe at any time in the Ziinkle app. Tap the Settings icon (the last icon on the bottom navigation bar) and click on ‘My membership’.
We are currently offering a 30 day free trial of all premium features to all new users.

What’s the minimum age requirement to use Ziinkle?

You must be at least 18 years old to use Ziinkle profile.

Where can I use Ziinkle?

Ziinkle is currently only available in Australia. We hope to expand to other countries very soon.

How do I edit my profile?

To edit your profile information, or update your photos follow the steps below:

1. Within the Ziinkle app, tap the Settings icon (the last icon on the bottom navigation bar)

2. Tap your profile picture, then press ‘Edit profile’ to edit your profile

How do I use Venue Search?

Venue Search allows you to search areas for hospitality venues that have other Ziinkle users that match your criteria to help you decide where to go out. Unless you are physically at a venue and have set your profile to Visible, you can only see the number of people at venues, rather than specific users, and they can’t see you at all. You can follow the steps below, or watch our demo video:

1. Click on the Ziinkle Icon (first icon on the bottom navigation bar)

2. Click on Venue

3. Type in the suburb you wish to go out to

4. The map will populate with venues. Any venue with a number on it represents the amount of users currently at that venue who match your criteria

5. You can also view as a list by clicking ‘List’. These are sorted by closest distance to you.

How do the three modes of visibility work?

To ensure that our users use Ziinkle how they feel most comfortable, we are providing three modes of visibility including:

Incognito: where a profile is switched off to all users and in return, the user isn’t able to see others;

Anonymous: where only generic information is shown such as gender and age;

Visible: where a complete profile is shown to other users when in a social venue.

To change your visibility settings once at a venue, you can follow the steps below or watch our demo video:

1. Click on the Ziinkle Icon (first icon on the bottom navigation bar)
2. Click on Venue
3. Click the orange visibility icon on the top right of the map
4. Select your mode of visibility

Your updated preference will be active for 24hours before it switches back to Incognito (or until you change it back yourself). Rest assured, if you’re using the app at home or anywhere outside a hospitality venue, you won’t be visible at all to other users in venue search.

How do the three modes of visibility work?

You can find users who have liked your profile but who you haven’t said yes or no to just yet in your ‘Match backlog’. These users have made their interests known, so there is no guesswork for you.

You will only be able to see one at a time unless you’re a premium user, in which case you can see everyone in your ‘Match backlog’ at the same time.

How do I set my preferences?

1. Within the Ziinkle app, tap the Settings icon (the last icon on the bottom navigation bar)
2. Click preferences

If you are a premium user you will have access to all Advance Preference options. If you don’t have a subscription, you will only be able to access the basic preferences.

For safety reasons, we have restricted the amount of match preference options for Venue Search. To access preferences for venue search:

  1. Click on the Ziinkle Icon (first icon on the bottom navigation bar)
  2. Click on Venue
  3. Click on the filter icon

What happens when I block someone?

Once you block someone, they will no longer be able to see your profile or communicate with you. If a user has threatened you in any way or displayed anti-social or inappropriate behaviours, please report them to us. They do not see any report you make.

For safety purposes, a copy of your chat with them will remain available to you for 30 days should you need to take further action with law enforcement.

To block someone:

  1. Go to your Messages inbox and open your chat with them
  2. Click on the 3 dots in the top right-hand corner
  3. Select Block

How do I unblock a user?

Once you’ve blocked a user, it’s not possible to unblock them.

How do I unmatch someone?

To unmatch a user:

  1. Go to their profile
  2. Click on the 3 dots in the top right-hand corner
  3. Select Unmatch

How do I report someone?

To report a user:

  1. Go to their profile
  2. Click on the 3 dots in the top right-hand corner
  3. Select Report
  4. Input the reason you are reporting them
  5. Our team will contact you if they require further information

We have zero-tolerance for bad behaviour and we take all reports very seriously. Anyone you report does not see the report you make.

What happens when you report?

Your safety is our number one priority on Ziinkle. If something happens that makes you feel unsafe or uncomfortable, please report it.

When you report something to us, our team of human moderators review your report. We take every report very seriously, and if you do report someone, they won’t know it was you as reports are anonymous. Most of the time we’ll handle the report without you needing to do anything else. If we do need more information, we’ll reach out to you by email. Due to privacy reasons, we can’t share the status of reports, but if you’re ever concerned, please get in touch with our support team and we’ll try to help.

Subscriptions

If I delete or deactivate my Ziinkle profile, or remove the app, will my subscription be automatically cancelled?

No, you need to manage this through your subscriptions in the Apple App Store or your Google Play console.

If I turn on Snooze mode, will my subscription be cancelled?

No, you need to manage this through your subscriptions in the Apple App Store or your Google Play console.

How can I change my gender?

  1. Within the Ziinkle app, tap the Settings icon (the last icon on the bottom navigation bar)
  2. Tap your profile picture, then press ‘Edit profile’ to edit your profile
  3. Scroll down to where it says ‘About you’ and press edit. You will then be able to change your gender identity.

Who will be able to see my profile when snoozed?

Only users you’ve matched with will be able to see your profile whilst on Snooze. No new users will see you or be able to match with you.

Will I still be able to chat to my matches with Snooze on?

Yes, you will still be able to chat with existing matches with Snooze on.

Will I still be able to swipe when my profile is on Snooze?

No, you will not be able to use any features of the app, apart from chat, whilst on Snooze.

How do I submit an idea for a new feature?

  1. Within the Ziinkle app, tap the Settings icon (the last icon on the bottom navigation bar)
  2. Tap ‘Ziinkle support’
  3. Tap ‘Feedback’. This will open a new email so you can send us your ideas

How do I log out of Ziinkle?

  1. Within the Ziinkle app, tap the Settings icon (the last icon on the bottom navigation bar)
  2. Tap ‘Your account’
  3. Scroll down to the bottom and tap ‘log out’.
